You may want to remove your test environment ARS instance from the ARS server list, to ensure your users will only connect to your production environment when accessing the service via the MMC console.
The ARS server list is determined by the service connection points objects published in AD.
1) First, deny the service account from creating/publishing the service connection point:
a) Run ADUC;
b) Make sure "Advanced features" is On;
c) Locate the container:
domain/System/Aelita/Enterprise Directory Manager
d) Right click on it and select properties;
e) Go to the Security tab;
f) Press add button and locate service account for test ARS service (assuming the test and production do not use the same account);
g) Deny, for example, Write and Create all child objects.
2) Then, remove service connection point for the test environment from:
Default naming context | <Domain DN> | CN=System | CN=Aelita | CN=Enterprise Directory Manager
Please note that the test environment ARS service will remain accessible, but it will need to be manually specified when launching the MMC. console
