Attempt to Install Active Roles SPML Provider fails with the error "Setup cannot proceed because this computer is running an unsupported operating system." (4336567)

When attempting to install the Active Roles SPML provider, the installation fails with the error message:

Setup cannot proceed because this computer is running an unsupported operating system.

This error message is thrown if the host operating system has the TerminalServer role installed.

WORKAROUND

Remove the TerminalService role and all related components, or use a different Windows Host which does not have these components present.

STATUS

Enhancement Request VSTS101216 requested to update the SPML document that SPML component cannot be installed on the System with TerminalServer roles and components enabled.
