Active Roles 8.3 Post-Upgrade Issues -
Description
In some environments, the following issues may occur after upgrading to Active Roles 8.3:
Issue Defect ID The upgrade Wizard does not copy over the SQL Permissions, Roles and Users. 712011 Scheduled Task and Policy Parameters are missing and unable to save new parameters. 712029 Custom Virtual Attributes are missing. 712222 Access Template Level Precedence 712034 Access Template Class Filter mismatch 713071 -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Issue Workaround The upgrade Wizard does not copy over the SQL Permissions, Roles and Users. Manually copy over any Permissions, Roles and Users to the new Active Roles 8.3 database. Scheduled Task and Policy Parameters are missing and unable to save new parameters. Run a Repair on the Active Roles 8.3 installation. Custom Virtual Attributes are missing. - This issue occurs if the Virtual Attribute edsvaUserName already exists in the configuration. To confirm if you are impacted, navigate to Configuration | Server Configuration | Virtual Attributes and look for edsvaUserName. If edsvaUserName is present, rename it to edsvaUserName_Old before starting the upgrade.

Access Template Class Filter mismatch None. Will be addressed in 8.4
STATUS
One Identity will provide Active Roles 8.4 which will resolve these issues. Please refer to this KB for a status update.
