Old domain controllers are sometimes showing up in QAS logs long after they have been removed from SRV records in DNS.

Cause
The old server names are still found in QAS's USN cache which is not being updated properly when the servers are removed.
Product Defect ID 427080 - Decommissioned DC's are not removed from USN_CACHE -
Resolution
RESOLUTION:
1 - Running the "/opt/quest/bin/vastool flush" command will remove the old DC from all caches.
2 - In 4.1 vasd must also be stopped and then restarted due to 4.1 handling srvinfo in a daemon.
WORKAROUNDIf the resolution above does not remove the old DC from all caches then they can be manually removed by running the following command./opt/quest/bin/vastool daemon stop vasd; printf ".timeout 5000\ndelete from srvinfo;\ndelete from usn_cache;\n" | /opt/quest/libexec/vas/sqlite3 -header /var/opt/quest/vas/vasd/vas_misc.vdb; /opt/quest/bin/vastool daemon start vasd ; sleep 5; /opt/quest/bin/vastool flush
STATUS: Corrected in 5.1.3 via defect #428081. From the 5.1.3 Release Notes: Previously, vastool flush srvinfo failed to remove invalid entries from the
srvinfo cache. After the fix, vastool flush srvinfo removes all entries. 428081" -

Running the "vastool flush srvinfo" command instead of a full flush may also be sufficient to correct this problem.
