Description
On an AIX server with more that one repository on the system, a QAS user viewing files may see the UID number and not the name.
/opt/quest/bin/vastool status reports FAILURE: 612 /etc/security/user has default: registry setting <compat>

Cause
AIX only. Configuration issue with the /etc/security/user file. More than one repository was on the system and registry = compat was set in the file.

Resolution
Edit the /etc/security/user file and set the correct repository for the registry setting in the default stanza.
For example in the /etc/security/user file:
default:registry =
We suggest leaving the registry setting blank that way all repositories are checked for the user, instead of forcing all users to default to be in one repository.
Registry setting describes where this user is administered.
