This hotfix addresses the issues described in the Resolved Issues section of this document.
This hotfix may receive additional testing. If you are not severely affected by the issues this hotfix is intended to resolve, One Identity recommends waiting for the next release of Safeguard Authentication Services where those issues will be addressed.

Issues resolved in hotfix 5.0.2-38501Product Component Resolved Issue Hotfix ID Defect ID Safeguard Authentication Services agent daemon (vasd) The login process for a local user using password-less authentication could take too long. Previously, when logging in as a local user using password-less authentication the PAM module was triggering a lot of unnecessary vasd activity thus causing a potential system slow down.This issue has been resolved by the number of calls from PAM to vasd has been significantly reduced in the aforementioned case.SOL333727 274626 Safeguard Authentication Services agent daemon (vasd) Authentication daemon crashes when the number of open file descriptors exceed 1024 with the following message:AuthChild::HandleGetNextMessageFailure Error processing message. rc=71 ("Protocol error")This issue is now fixed, and the vasd is able to handle connections above 1024.SOL333727 276395 Compatibility of this hotfix

- Log in and open a root shell.
- Mount the installation ISO for your selected platform and navigate to the mount point.
- Run install.sh by entering the following command and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the hotfix installation:

To determine if this hotfix is installed
- Log in and open a root shell.
- Check the version of the Safeguard Authentication Services subsystems. To do this, run the following command:
# /opt/quest/bin/vastool -v - SAS Version 5.0.2.38501 in the first line indicates that the update for the Safeguard Authentication Services is installed.
