These hotfixes may receive additional testing. If you are not severely affected by the issues these hotfixes address, it is recommended that you install the next full release of Defender that includes these fixes.
The following is a list of issues resolved in the latest hotfix, Version 5.6.0.2418 which was released February 2, 2011.
This hotfix should only be applied if you are experiencing the following situation:
0001345 - Resolved an issue where the Defender Desktop Token software would not activate a new token when the user is connecting to a workstation using a Remote Desktop session (RDP). The token programming wizard would fail with the warning message "The token was unable to be activated".
0001912 - Resolved an intermittent issue where the Defender Desktop Token would successfully activate a new token using the token programming wizard, but the token would not be available to use in the Defender Desktop Token software.
The following is a list of issues resolved in the hotfix, Version 5.6.0.2340 which was released January 11, 2011.
This hotfix should only be applied if you are experiencing the following situation:
0001868 - Resolved an issue where the Desktop Token would generate a valid token response when the user enters an incorrect passphrase. This issue only occurs for software tokens using challenge /response mode when the "Alert user when incorrect passphrase entered" option is selected during token programming.

These hotfixes are complete rebuilds and repackaging of the Defender Desktop Token component.
To install a hotfix:
An upgrade of the Defender Desktop Token is required - run 'Defender Desktop Token Installer.exe' and follow on screen instructions.
To determine which hotfix is installed:
Open Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features.
Find the "Defender Desktop Token" software.
Verify the version number is 5.6.0.xxx.
