Users receive, "You cannot change your password as it is being managed by Defender Desktop Login" -
Description
When a user tries to change the password of a workstation the message, “You cannot change your password as it is being managed by Defender Desktop Login” is displayed. -
Cause
This can occur if the option “Automatically change user’s password as required” is selected in the Desktop Login Configuration. -
Resolution
To change this setting:
1. Browse to: “C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Defender\Defender Desktop Login\
2. Launch “GinaConfig.exe”
3. Select the “Options” tab
4. Uncheck the “Automatically change user’s password as required” and click “Apply” and “Ok”
5. The password can now be changed on this system.
