Video: How to reduce the number of connections Password Manager uses to access the domain? (224883)

Having multiple connections to the same domain can cause a number of issues with Password Manager.

For example the following error is reported when users are attempting to logon to the Self-Service site or / when the administrator attempts to edit the domain connection used in the user scope.

"System error occurred. For more information, view the event log."

The event & verbose logs report the following error.

“QPM.Service.Modules.ADHelpers.dll ErrorContectInterceptionBehavior.Invoke()>>FillDomainINfo raises exception: 'Error connecting to domain '':Unknown error (0x80005000)'”

Too many connections to the same domain within Password Manager Admin site.

1. Determine how many connections you have within the  PMAdmin | General Settings | Domain Connections.
   
2. Select the Home tab on the top left.
   
3. Select the helpdesk scope
   
4. make note of the group or OU in the scope then select "Remove"
   
5. Add a domain connection
   
6. Use the existing connection from the "User scope"
   
7. Select edit on the helpdesk connection and add back the group or OU originally in the scope
   
8. Select General Settings | Domain Connections tab
   
9. Remove the unused connection
   
10. To remove the Password Policy connection select the Password Policy tab
    
11. Remove the existing connection
    
12. Add back in the domain
    
13. Use the existing connection from the "User scope" and "Helpdesk scope"
    
14. Select General Settings | Domain Connections tab
    
15. Remove the unused connection
