Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type 'add' with unique key attribute 'extension' set to '.aspx' (4258586)

WORKAROUND

1. Locate the web.config file on the Active Roles IIS server, and open it in a text editor
   • Default location: C:\Program Files\Dell\Active Roles\7.0\Web\Public
2. Locate the section shown below:
   • <compilation defaultLanguage="c#" batch="false" debug="false" targetFramework="4.5">
           <buildProviders>
             <!-- IIS detects a duplicate entry for the same setting at a higher level in the configuration.-->
             <!-- Adding clear tag mitigates the error when .Net Compilation tab is opened in IIS for any site -->
3. Add the tag <clear /> below it. The result should look like this:
   •     <compilation defaultLanguage="c#" batch="false" debug="false" targetFramework="4.5">
           <buildProviders>
             <!-- IIS detects a duplicate entry for the same setting at a higher level in the configuration.-->
             <!-- Adding clear tag mitigates the error when .Net Compilation tab is opened in IIS for any site -->
             <clear />
4. Save the file and restart IIS
