Importing Management History fails with "WriteToServer requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed." -
Description
When importing a large Management History database using the Active Roles Configuration Center, the operation will fail after some time with the following error:
WriteToServer requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed.

Cause
A single operation has exceeded the timeout configured on the source or target SQL server. -
Résolution
WORKAROUND
- On both the source and target SQL server hosts, log into SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SQL instance.
- Right-click on the root of the tree on the left and choose Properties
- On the Connections tab, set the Remote Query Timeout (in seconds, 0 = no timeout) option to a higher value (the default value is 300 seconds).
- It is not necessary to restart the SQL service or host, these changes should come into effect immediately.
