Trial Defender licenses are not being installed/created. -
Description
Version 5.6/5.7 of the Defender MMC console provides trial licenses that are automatically installed and valid for 25 users for 90 days, including free use of any token type during that period. But the licenses are not being installed/created.

Cause
The trial licenses are only installed if no existing Defender licenses are installed and no previous version of the console installed.
Check the install log for details. It should contain a line explaining why the trial licenses were not installed. The log is located here:
Windows 2008/Windows 7
C:\ProgramData\Quest Software\Install Logs\defender_ade_mmc_install.txt
Windows 2003/XP

Résolution
1. From Add/Remove programs uninstall the "Defender Console".
2. Reinstall the Defender Administration Console with Domain Admin privileges
3. Check the log that the licenses have been installed. In Active Directory these will be under the Defender OU, named DEFLIC0000000000 and PGODTL_UNIVERSAL.
