Follow the steps below to change the SQL Server Login users password:
- Open SQL Management Studio
- Copy the Database Address field from the Database section of the Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition details
- Enter the Database Address data into the Server name field in SQL Management Studio
- Set the Authentication to SQL Server Authentication
- Enter the database Username and Password from Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition into the Login and Password fields (The username will generally end in cccConfig)
- Click the Connect button
- Once authenticated expand Security and then Logins
- Right click on the database user that was used for step 5 above
- Select Properties
- Place a check mark beside the field Specify old password
- Enter the current password into the Old password field
- Enter the new password into the password and confirm password fields
- Click OK
Please note some tenants for Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition use Azure SQL, in this case a password policy is not used for the SQL connection account as this is not supported for this type of database.
Please ensure to notate the new password that was entered for step 12 above as this is not saved to the Starling portal (The Database section listed on the Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition tenant details page does not know of this password and will only continue to show the initial password that was provided).
For Identity Manager On Demand non Starling Edition, the only two differences for the steps above are, the SQL Management Studio would need to be launched from the jump host and the Database connection details are on the SharePoint site. Only Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition allows for a direct database connection outside of the jump host
