Error: Unknown error (0x80005000). -
Description
When opening the Directory Browser within TPAM 2.5 the error “Warning: Unknown error (0x80005000). Platform winad Domain: domain.com Container:” is displayed.

Cause
This can occur when the TPAM appliance can’t resolve the NetBIOS name of the managed Active Directory server, or port 389 traffic is blocked over the network.

Résolution
Run a telnet test from the TPAM appliance to the NetBIOS name of the Managed Active Directory server over port 389. This should succeed.
Then run an Nslookup for the IP or Hostname of the Domain Controller. If this fails confirm that your DNS settings are correct.
If there is no NetBIOS resolution over the network a custom host mapping will need to be added in the TPAM:8443/config interface. However, the DNS should be resolving this properly.
