By default, Active Roles will always connect to the most recent version of Microsoft Exchange in the environment.
In some scenarios, it may be necessary to force Active Roles to use an older version.
Example - Customer upgraded the schema in live environment to Microsoft Exchange 2013 but still only has Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers..
Run the attached script to force Active Roles to connect to Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers.
The script can manually be changed for a different version of Microsoft Exchange by changing this line:
objNode.setAttribute "PreferredVersionForEstablishEmailTasks","8"
Default Value = 0
Microsoft Exchange 2000 = 1
Microsoft Exchange 2003 = 2
Microsoft Exchange 2007 = 4
Microsoft Exchange 2010 = 8
Microsoft Exchange 2013 = 16
Microsoft Exchange 2016 = 32
Microsoft Exchange Online = 64
Microsoft Exchange2019 = 128
This script changes a centralized setting in the Active Roles Configuration Database and only needs to be run once per Active Roles configuration. All Active Roles Administration Services which share the same configuration MUST be restarted in order to register this new configuration change.
