Error: Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index [#] -
Description
When performing a synchronization an AdHocProjection step may go into a "Frozen" state with this error: "Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index [#]" -
Cause
This occurs when partially encrypted OverrideVariables cannot be decrypted if certain characters are masked - ", ~, <, >, @ and ; -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Remove the specific characters from the Password Policy:
<Target System> Password Policy --> Prohibited special characters.
Add the characters: "~<>@;.
STATUS
Please contact Support and request hotfix #36043.Please note that there is no fix for version 9.2.x as this is considered a breaking change. The only option for this version is to use the workaround listed above.
