Attempting to use TimeTrace in Manager via Direct SQL Connection fails -
Description
Using Manager with a direct SQL connection, when a Person Record is open and attempting to view the TimeTrace for the record the following error is displayed:
The history database connection string with ID HistoryDB was not found. This connection can only work using application servers that have this connection defined in their configuration
If Manager is opened using a connection to the Application Server the TimeTrace works and displays without issue. -
Cause
This is by design. In the documentation , it states:
The Manager and the Web Portal use the application server to log in. Otherwise the evaluation of the data changes in TimeTrace or in reports is not possible.
When the history database setting "Use a connection key from app server" is enabled, it's expected that a direct SQL link won't work. -
Resolution
To view TimeTrace data, please re-launch Manager using an AppServer connection.
