Error: The password of the account has expired -
Description
When attempting to connect to any of the front end tools while using the direct database connection the following error is displayed:
Login failed for user 'database user'. Reason: The password of the account has expired. -
Cause
The database user configured for the direct SQL server connection has an expired password. -
Resolution
Follow the steps below to update the password:- Open up SQL Management Studio
- Input the servername provided by the Identity Manager On Demand configuration
- Input the username provided by the Identity Manager On Demand configuration
- Input the password provided by the Identity Manager On Demand configuration
- A prompt to update the password will be displayed when attempting to connect
- Enter the same password as in step 4
- Enter a new password
- Click OK
Please note some Identity Manager On Demand Starling Edition instances are using Azure SQL, this means that a password policy is not used for the connection account as this is not supported by this type of SQL.
