When you create a custom table it's possible to answer "no" to creating the XObjectKey column. But it's common to find that you will need this column after all!

Resolution
There is a sql script in the SDK for this purpose.
Take a look at SDK_AddXObjectKey. You should find it in
\SDK\SQLSamples\MSSQL2K
It has the code to create the procedure, then you can call it with parameter "tablename".
