Description
Identity Manager jobservice intermittently doesn't collect jobs. The SQL log doesn't show activity. After a restart, the jobservice works again. -
Cause
A possible cause is that the stored procedure vid_JobGetForCache_3, which the jobservice uses to collect jobs from the jobqueue, is blocked and waiting. -
Resolution
On SQL Server, you can use the following query to find out whether the procedure is waiting:
SELECT sqltext.text, sp.* FROM sys.sysprocesses sp OUTER APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(sp.sql_handle) sqltext WHERE sp.blocked <> 0 AND sqltext.text LIKE '%vid_JobGetForCache_3%'
Any further resolution depends on the result.
