Compiler error where string contains the dollar ($) symbol. -
Cause
The reason for the error is because "$" has a special function in our system: To define column references.
That's why the whole code will be compared with regular expressions to find valid $-refererences.
This regular expression searches for 2 $'s and between them only permitted characters (which can be used inside of $-references).

Resolution
To avoid such issues you can mask the $'s by doubling.
Example:
Replace this:
wildCardMatches = Regex.Matches(displayPattern, "[\$[a-z,A-Z,_,0-9]*\$]") by this:
wildCardMatches = Regex.Matches(displayPattern, "[\$$[a-z,A-Z,_,0-9]*\$$]")
It will not raise compiler errors and will work as expected.
