Installing IMX web applications in an offline environment with the npm_lazy cache server (4322653)

• There is a machine that has access to the Internet and thus to the npm registry (hereinafter "online machine"), and
• a second machine without Internet access on which IMX web applications are to be installed (hereinafter "offline machine").

• download Node.js here or
• use the Node.js version provided under C:\Program Files\One Identity\One Identity Manager\nodejs.zip.

Perform the following actions on the online machine:

1. Download the npm_lazy cache server in the ZIP format here.

   NOTE

   This guide uses the default configuration values of the npm_lazy cache server.

   Here you can learn more about npm_lazy and the configuration options of the server.

2. Extract the ZIP file into a folder.
3. Go to the directory containing the source code and install the cache server:

   npm install

4. Delete the npm cache:

   npm cache clear --force

5. Use the cache server as npm registry:

   npm config set registry http://localhost:8080/

6. Start the npm_lazy cache server:

   node .\bin\npm_lazy

7. Start the Database Compiler (DBCompiler.exe).
8. Select the projects you want to compile and start the process.
9. Wait until the compilation is complete.
10. Go to the Users/[User] directory and copy the .npm_lazy folder to the Users/[User] directory on the offline machine.
11. Copy the directory that contains the sources of the npm_lazy cache server to a folder of your choice on the offline machine.

Perform the following actions on the offline machine:

1. Use the cache server as npm registry:

   npm config set registry http://localhost:8080/

2. Go to the directory containing the sources of the npm_lazy cache server and start the server:

   Start the Database Compiler.

3. node .\bin\npm_lazy
4. Select the projects you want to compile and start the process.
