After upgrading to Identity Manager 10.0, the original simple filter dialog in Manager is no longer accessible from the filter icons in result lists.
In previous versions, clicking the filter icon displayed a simple text prompt with a column selector, allowing quick filtering (select column, type value, press Enter) in 1-2 clicks.
In version 10.0, the filter icons open a new unified search interface with three methods: Wildcard, Full text, and SQL. The original simple filter cannot be invoked manually.
Note: The legacy filter dialog may still appear automatically for very large result sets (10,000+ records), but this is a system-triggered behavior and is not user-controllable.
This is by design. In Identity Manager 10.0, the simple column-based filter dialog was replaced with the unified search interface as part of the UI modernization. There is no configuration setting or option to restore the old behavior.
This has been submitted as Enhancement Request #725826 to restore the simple filter as an additional option in the Manager filter dialog.
In the meantime, the following alternatives are available:
Wildcard filter: Use the Wildcard option in the filter dialog. Enter your search term with asterisks (e.g. *john*) to match partial values. Note: This searches only the display column.
SQL filter: Use the SQL option for column-specific searches. This allows precise queries but requires SQL knowledge.
Saved filters: Create and save personal filters for frequently used searches for quick reuse.
