An issue can arise where the Management History database can become corrupt, unusable or inaccessible.
The Management History database can be recreated without having to re-install the entire product. From the product installation media, navigate to the following directory:
Misc\Create MH Database\
The following commands require the host machine to have SQL Server Management Tools installed. If these are not present, simply copy the above directory to a host with them installed, and then proceed.
First, it is necessary to create a blank database, using the following command:
CreateDB.bat "MyServer\ARS" "[ChangeHistory]"
Then, run the following command to configure the database created in the previous steps as a Management History Database:
Create_MHOnly.bat "MyServer\ARS" "ChangeHistory"
In the above example, “MyServer\ARS” is the SQL Server and SQL instance name where you wish to create the new database.
Note: If your SQL server doesn’t contain instances, the “\
[ChangeHistory] is the desired name for the new Management History database
NOTE: It is important to ensure that the ActiveRoles Service account has the db_owner role on the new database. For more information please see Database-Level Roles.
