500 Internal service error when navigating to one or all of the ActiveRoles Server web sites.

Example:

"HTTP Error 500.19 – Internal Server Error

The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

WORKAROUND

1. Make sure there are no scheduled tasks that could write to Web Interface application directory:
   
   C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Quest One ActiveRoles\Web Interface 6.9\
   
2. Try excluding the following directories from any scanning/indexing solutions:
   
   C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Quest One ActiveRoles\Web Interface 6.9\6.9.0\
   C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\arserveradmin\
   
3. Try excluding the following process from any scanning solutions:
   
   C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\w3wp.exe

ASP.NET Case Study: Lost session variables and appdomain recycles

ASP.NET restarts the application domain when a change to any critical file or directory is detected causing the loss of user's session state, which in turn results in the errors in ARS Web Interface. The application domain restart on a critical change is a built-in feature of the Microsoft ASP.NET framework. It cannot be disabled by ActiveRoles Web Interface. Some file system filter drivers, such as antivirus, backup, and indexing software - could potentially cause this issue by issuing file/directory change notifications.
