ActiveRoles® Server Add-on for Lync Server patch 2.0.3 (114713)

The following is a list of issues resolved in this patch.

Add-on for Lync Server may cause performance degradation in ActiveRoles Server. A symptom of the issue is slowness and high resource consumption of operations related to retrieval of user attributes from ActiveRoles Server, especially when enumerating a large number of user accounts (several thousands). The issue is due to a defect in the policy scripts installed by the add-on.

Back-sync of existing Lync Server user accounts takes much longer than expected to complete. When initially syncing Lync Server user accounts that were configured without using this add-on (so-called "back-sync"), the add-on's "Lync Server - Perform Full Sync" task marks them as sync-pending. As a result, a large number of user accounts are waiting for unnecessary delta-sync steps, and cannot be managed by the add-on until the delta-sync steps are completed. A symptom of the issue is a large number of user accounts stalled in the "Lync Server - Users - Sync Pending" Managed Unit during the initial back-sync.

To install this patch:

1. Unzip the patch release package to retrieve the file LyncAddon-2.0.3.arsaddon.
2. Use ActiveRoles Add-on Manager to install the add-on from file LyncAddon-2.0.3.arsaddon: Right-click that file, click Open with ActiveRoles Add-on Manager, and follow the on-screen instructions.

After you've installed this patch, perform the following steps:

1. On the computer running the ActiveRoles Administration Service, log on as an administrator, and then use ActiveRoles Management Shell to run the following command:
   Get-QADUser -Proxy -Service "localhost" -SizeLimit 0 -SearchRoot 'CN=Active Directory' -LdapFilter '(edsvaLync-PendingChangesTimestamp=*)' | Set-QADUser -ObjectAttributes @{'edsvaLync-ForceSync'='FALSE'}
2. Go to the add-on application page in the ActiveRoles Server console (Applications | ActiveRoles Server Add-on for Lync Server), and click Apply in the Configure Add-on area. Then, click the Force user data sync button.
