The service account that the Quick Connect Service is running as needs rights to create the service connection point in Active Directory. The Quick Connect Capture Agent reads the service connection point information and stores the connection information in the following configuration file on the domain controller:
5.3 and under
\Program Files\Quest Software\Quick Connect Capture Agent\caSvcCfg.xml
5.4 onwards
\Program Files\Dell\One Identity Quick Connect Capture Agent\caSvcCfg.xml
Using Active Directory Users and Computers, click the View menu and make sure Advanced Features is checked off.
The service connection point should be located at the following:
5.3 and under
yourDomain | System | Quest Software | QuickConnect
5.4 onwards
yourDomain | System | Dell Software | QuickConnect
If the service account is missing the rights to create the service connection point, you will either be missing the Quest/Dell Software container or theQuickConnect container. The Quest Software container might exist if you have some of our other products.
The service account can be given temporary domain administrator rights by adding it to the Domain Admins group. Once the rights are provided, restart the Quick Connect Service. At this time, the service connect point will be created in Active Directory. Confirm that the service connection point has been created in the above location using Active Directory Users and Computers. Once it gets created, you can remove the service account from the Domain Admins group.
Once the service connection point exists in Active Directory, locate the following file on the domain controller:
5.3 and under
\Program Files\Quest Software\Quick Connect Capture Agent\caSvcCfg.xml
5.4 onwards
\Program Files\Dell\One Identity Quick Connect Capture Agent\caSvcCfg.xml
Delete the caSvcCfg.xml file and restart the Quick Connect Capture Agent service. This will read the service connection point information from Active Directory and recreate the caSvcCfg.xml file with the correct connection information.
