System and Account objects that are meant to be deleted by the Daily Maintenance could potentially build up over time and create a task large enough that cannot be handled properly by the regular maintenance task.
As a workaround, modify your Global Settings to change the following 2 options:
Change "Allow Manual Hard Deletes" to "No"
Change "Days in trash (0=Never Delete)" to "0" (zero)
Modifying these options will stop the Daily Maintenance from attempting to delete the items in Trash and will prevent your appliance from crashing. However, this will not cleanup the items.
Hotfix_6027.zip modifies the code to split up the hard deletes into very small transactions, 10 items per batch, and also separates the systems and accounts. This change should prevent this issue from occurring again.
After the hotfix is applied, you can change your Global Settings back to the previous values and the scheduled Daily Maintenance job should not cause problems because it will not attempt to delete large amounts of data at once.
