It sometime necessary to capture vasypd debug to find out more information on what it happening
1 - Run the following:
/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure vas vasypd debug-level 5
The above command will add under the vasypd section in the vas.conf file debug level =5 should look like the following:
[vasypd]
debug-level = 5
2 - Restart the vasypd daemon
3 - Configure the System Logger configuration file for the operating system to capture debug.
The name of the file, location, and setting may vary. Refer to the operating system vendor for information. The most popular configuration is below:
Edit the /etc/syslog.conf file and add
*.debug -/tmp/vas_debug.log
4.Create the log file:
# touch /tmp/vas_debug.log
5. Restart or HUP the syslog daemon:
#kill -HUP `ps -e | grep -i syslog | awk '{print $1}'`
6. Reproduce the steps that had failed earlier or wait for the issue to occur again.
7. Attach 2 files: /etc/yp.conf and /tmp/vas_debug.log to your Service Request for Technical Support to review
