Description
PSM, Test System and PPM works normally but Test Event Configuration is unable to connect to the managed system on Sun Solaris
Error message when Test Event Configuration is executed:
Testing event capture on system hostname(IP) through DPA (IP)
Task exited with return code 2
Testing SSH connectivity to (IP) using functional account.
Ssh Client connect failed
cannot communicate with hostname(IP)
Error message captured on sshd logs:
hostname sshd[9083]: [ID 800047 auth.info] Disconnecting: Bad packet length.
hostname sshd[11238]: [ID 800047 auth.info] Disconnecting: Bad packet length. -
Cause
The issue is a Solaris Defect that affects encryption using the Blowfish cipher on the SPARC T4 platform type.
7101916 blowfish-cbc/hmac_sha1 in the SSH test suite failed on T4 -
Resolution
For SPARC T4 systems running Solaris 10 the resolution is to install the ssl patch 147707-08 or later.
For SPARC T4 systems running Solaris 11 the resolution is to install Solaris 11 SRU 9.5 or later.Please contact your Solaris Support for the latest information regarding this issue.

Additional Information
Event capture uses the Java j2ssh package for the SSH connection. J2ssh creates the connection and uses that same connection for multiple commands (send command, get response, send command, get response, repeat…). Trying to duplicate using putty is not really relevant. If this issue presents itself on other OS, then the following logs may be useful. 1. Reproduce the issue. 2. Login to the DPA via SSH and retrieve the relevant entries from j2EE loggings.
