When using the Get-QADuser PowerShell cmdlet to retrieve virtual attributes, the values are returned as blank.
Example:
Command
Get-QADUser -Identity domain\testuser -IncludeAllProperties | Format-List test_Virtual_Attribute
Output
test_Virtual_Attribute:
To make sure your connection uses ActiveRoles Server for its queries, use the following cmd before performing your queries.
Connect-QADService -Service <fqdnOfArsAdminServiceHost> -Proxy
The important part of the above command is the -Proxy, which forces your connection to use the ActiveRoles Server administration service to process the queries and allow access to the virtual attributes
Example:
Command
Connect-QADService -Service ars1.testdomain.com -Proxy
Output
DefaultNamingContext Type
-------------------- ----
DC=testdomain,DC=com ARS
Command
Get-QADUser -Identity domain\testuser -IncludeAllProperties | Format-List test_Virtual_Attribute
Output
test_Virtual_Attribute: testValue
