Editor applet not loading in MCU getting error Security Exception: missing required permissions -
Description
In Mangement Concole for Unix (MCU) , Click the Sudo policy tab and get an application error pop-up message: SecurityException
Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar:
https://mcu:9443/applet/editor.jar

Cause
MCU uses self singed cert and Java local settings does not allow applet to load. -
Resolution
On Java 7 and up add the MCU URL to the Java Security Exception site list by doing the following steps:1 - Go to the Java Control PanelOn Windows: Click Start and then Configure Java or Control Panel and Configure JavaOn Linux: Run the jcontrol commandOn MAC: Go to System Preferences and choose Java2 - Click on the Security tab3 - Click on the Edit Site List button4 - Click Add in the Exception Site List window5- Add the URL including port for example: https://myfullservername.example.com:9443The Exception Site List is aimed towards end-users controlling their own Exception Site List. The file controlling the Exception Site List is stored in the user’s deployment location and is called exception.sites. The file can be modified by hand instead of using the gui. Please refer to the vendor's documentation about this.
