Error: "The value in Email address of object does not conform to the required format." -
Description
When creating a new ADSAccount, the following error is generated:"[1025012] Object (Smith John) could not be saved![810306] Error during execution of 'CheckValues' in logic module 'VI.DB.Entities.EntityScriptLogic'.[810091] Active Directory user accounts: The value in Email address of object Smith John does not conform to the required format.[810222] Error executing script 'Format_ADSAccount_Mail'.[0] 'John Brown- Smith@domain.com' is not a valid SMTP mail address." -
Cause
The formatting script on Mail@ADSAccount throws the error:
If Not VID_IsSMTPAddress(str) ThenThrow New ViException(#LD("{0}' is not a valid SMTP mail address", str)#, ExceptionRelevance.EndUser)End If
The SMTP address cannot contain spaces as entered:
John Brown- Smith will fail; John_Brown-Smith will work. -
Resolution
Confirm that the email address entered is in the correct format, e.g.: jsmith@domain.com.Remove any spaces from the email address (Mail@ADSAccount) as entered for an ADSAccount.
