Workflow fails when moving objects to Managed Unit -
Description
While creating a workflow and configuring the ‘Move’ activity, you may notice that (Managed Unit) MU’s can be selected as a destination container. But when running the workflow, you’ll find that the moving of the object(s) fails and the following error may be displayed in the ‘Run history’:
Administration Service encountered an error when moving the object 'CN=Contoso,CN=Users,DC=Contoso,DC=com'. A device attached to the system is not functioning.

Cause
MUs work on a membership basis, any attempts to move object(s) to a MU will fail.

Resolution
WORKAROUNDConfigure the workflow to add the object(s) to a specific group and if desired also move them to a specific OU. Then configure the MU ‘Membership Rules’ to ‘Include members of selected group’.STATUSAn enhancement request (TF00396577) has been created and may become available on a future release of the product. -
