You may notice that while trying to re-add a working domain to Password manager the following error is being displayed:
“The specified domain cannot be found, verify the domain name.”
You have confirmed that the domain is operation and DNS can be resolved, but the issue persists.
This can also cause scheduled tasks to fail in larger environments.
This can also cause failures in the helpdesk functionality.
Product defect (TF00421519): “Current thread discovery ID for domain XXXXXXX.com is 1, while global discovery ID is 2 - will not perform rediscovery.”
From the PMAdmin site in General settings, check the Domain connections. If you see the same domain listed separately for more than one function, that could be causing the problem. Each domain should be listed ONLY once with all of the places it is used listed next to it.
If the domain is listed multiple times, for example, once for the helpdesk, then again for the User scope, then you will need to remove it from the helpdesk. Then re-add it, but this time, instead of creating a new connection to the same domain, use the domain connection already listed at the top of the popup window for the User scope.
Please contact support if you would like assistance reconfiguring this so that each domain is listed only once.
If you can get into the domain connection in the user scope, you can also try selecting specific DCs.
In another instance, the issue was resolve by using Chrome as the browser instead of IE.
Multiple domain connections to the same domain is not supported so that will need to be resolved if that is the case.
