Authentication failing after switching from Likewise to QAS for directory service integration
System that was previously using Likewise for AD authentication was switched over to use QAS, and then the Likewise software package was removed. After removing Likewise authentications for both AD and local accounts began to fail.
The Likewise configuration was not completely removed when the package was deleted and entries for the Likewise PAM module, pam_lsass.so, were stil found in the PAM configuration.
Removing the pam_lsass.so entries from the PAM configuration resolved all authentication problems.
