Description
Is it possible to use a backup file created on a 2.3 or 2.4 Replica appliance as a Migration dataset to migrate into TPAM 2.5? -
Resolution
The backup file to be used for Migration into TPAM 2.5 may be created from either a Primary or a Replica appliance; however the appliance must be in Primary mode prior to creating the backup in order to be successful.
If the backup is taken while the Replica is in TEST mode, the Migration report will fail and return errors similar to:
SQL Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot drop the database 'par', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.
The backup from the 2.3 / 2.4 appliance should be taken from an appliance in Primary mode to ensure a successful Migration of the data into TPAM 2.5.
