Can QAS persistent disconnected users (perm-disconnected-users) who have never logged on to the server, which is in workstation mode, still login when QAS is in disconnected mode?
When QAS is in workstation mode, it will not cache any UNIX-enabled Active Directory users until they login. If a user is setup as a persistent disconnected user (perm-disconnected-users), for the purpose of having access to a server when QAS is in disconnected mode, even if they have never logged into the server before their user information will be cached, including their Kerberos token for password authentication.
Thus, the only users to be automatically cached by QAS when in workstation mode are users specified as persistent disconnected users:
This is done with the perm-disconnected-users option in the [vas_auth] section in /etc/opt/quest/vas/vas.conf.
