Mainframe, Mainframe TS, Mainframe (ACF2)
These platforms are all using TN3270 data and the relevant security system TSO commands to change the password on the Managed system. Note the “Mainframe” indicates RACF.
Due to the configurable nature of initial mainframe connection (when using the 3270/TSO platforms), some amount of Mainframe platform customization may need to occur in order to accommodate connectivity, this requires the Custom Platform and Professional Services.
Alternatively, if the mainframe has a LDAP server you could use the Mainframe LDAP platforms instead.
Mainframe LDAP RACF, Mainframe LDAP TS, Mainframe LDAP ACF2
These platforms are designed to work with an LDAP server. Therefore, an LDAP server is required on the mainframe, and the users DN defined on the user account “Description” field, for example Mainframe LDAP ACF2 might have ACF2lid=IBMUSER,host=system,o-corp,c=country. (Note, from 2.5.915 a Distinguished Name field has been added which is used instead of the Description field).
Additionally, the Mainframe LDAP platforms need a “Custom Command” to be entered. The Custom Command field is where you place the LDAP attributes in a space delimited format, additional information about this requirement can be found in the Client setup guide in Chapter 11.
When executing a Test System on Mainframe (RACF), TPAM only sends a simple, username/password and then a logoff. There are no specific Check Password or Reset Password commands being issued.
