It is recommended that All TPAM PSM sessions are stored on an Archive Server, per the TPAM SysAdmin guide page 11 which refers to Configure Archive Server for (session) logs, under the “Recommended Steps” heading.
When a PSM session recording is requested, it will be retrieved from their archive server played back on the device specified (usually a DPA).
Most if not all large PSM customers use a archive server(s) for their PSM recordings. These archive servers are located in the same network location as the DPA(s) which should take no longer than a few seconds to download the recordings for replay, even if they are fairly large sessions. Where possible please use gigabit networking to offer the best possible performance to your user base.
Extra Information:
The archive server can be configured for PSM session log storage for up to 999 days and have a maximum file size of 800Mb, but the default is 500Mb (recommended). A 500Mb file on gigabit networking should take no more than 10 seconds to retrieve from their archive server.
