When attempting to create or edit the Defender ID field from within the Management portal, the following error is noticed:
"Error - Request Failed message"
From Defender Administration tool (AD Users and Computers):
- Highlight Defender OU
- Click the Defender menu and select Delegate Control...
- Add the account or service account if the Management Portal is configured to use service account for all actions.
- Select the permission, in this case Modify Defender ID under Advanced Control
- Add users location (normally Domain level)
- Click Finish
- Test editing the Defender ID field now from Management Portal
