Capturing an exception or silent crash in the Active Roles Web Interface
Description
A reproducible event may trigger an exception or a silent crash in the Web Interface. As part of troubleshooting or at the request of One Identity Support, it may be necessary to capture a dump of the Internet Information Services (IIS) process.
Resolution
Windows Error Reporting (WER) is already present in Windows Server 2008 and later.
Rename and import the below registry key to enable WER captures of the IIS process, which handles the Active Roles Web Interface.
Create a folder at C:\Dumps if one is not already present.
Reproduce the issue and ensure that a dump file was created at the above location.
Logging can be disabled by deleting the registry hive located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\inetinfo.exe
