When opening a "List UserIDs" Excel export from TPAM, leading zeros in UserIDs will be dropped. The CSV file will show the leading zeros if opened outside of Excel. -
Description
There are TPAM UserIDs with leading zeros. When a "List UserIDs" list is created and exported to Excel or CSV, and then opened with Excel, the leading zeros are dropped. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND: The results exported to CSV or Excel do include the leading zeros and this can be verified via a straight text editor (such as Notepad). When opening the file in Excel; Excel will strip these leading zeros.
If the results are needed in Excel, it is possible to import the CSV into Excel and have Excel keep the leading zeros via this method:
Open Excel. (Do not open the file; just open Excel alone)-Open a new worksheet in Excel if needed.-Open the Data tab-Click on the 'From text' button in the 'Get External Data' section-Select your CSV file to import. Click Import.-Select the "Delimited" radio button-Click Next-Check "Comma" as a delimiter (column dividers will appear in preview)-Click Next-Highlight the column(s) with leading zeros (UserName in this instance)-Mark this column format as "text" by clicking the radio button in the'Column Data Format' section.
Click Finish
The leading zeros will still be there in the new worksheet with the imported data.
STATUS: This has been corrected in TPAM 2.5.917.
From the 2.5.917 Release Notes under "Resolved Issues":
"The List User ID’s report, when exported to Excel, does not retain leading zeros in User ID name. BFER 8544"
