- Go to <path to sparse root>/etc/
- Modify the nsswitch.conf file and change VAS3 to VAS4
- Backup the pam.conf file that is located in the sparse root. <path to sparse root>/etc/pam.conf
- Copy the pam.conf from the global to the sparse root and replace the current pam file.
- Test login to sparse root.
- If you need the pam configuration back you would then copy your backup pam.conf back on the sparse root.
- Once it is back then unconfigure the pam.conf file in the sparse root and then reconfigure it using the following commands while logged into the sparse zone:
/opt/quest/bin/vastool unconfigure pam
/opt/quest/bin/vastool configure pam
- Test login again.
