Accidentally deleting a Group Family, and then restoring it from the Recycle Bin will cause it to stop working. No groups get created, nor does the management of the existing group membership gets performed (blank Action Summary).
This is by design, deleting the Group Family will break functionality. All Data Base links need to be restored.
An enhancement request TF00701236 has been created detailing the feature with the ability to restore a Group Family in the occurrence of a failure.
Using the enclosed script (Fix-ImportedGroupFamily.zip), run the cmdlet below in PowerShell or the AR Management Shell.
Note: If using Windows authentication with SQL, please make sure to launch the shell/editor with the relevant credentials. If not, please utilize the SQL switch referenced below to specify the relevant SQL credentials.
Fix-ImportedGroupFamily.ps1 [[-GroupFamilyDN <string>] [-UseSqlAuthentication] [-SQLusername <string>] [-SQLpassword <string>]
Fix-ImportedGroupFamily.ps1 -GroupFamilyDN "CN=DepGF,OU=temp,DC=akj28,DC=cork,DC=lab,DC=local" -UseSqlAuthentication -SQLusername username -SQLpassword Password123 –FixPreviouslyControlledGroups
