Patch Log does not record all Microsoft KBs applied by Hotfix OSPatch_3106991 -
Description
The hotfix notes indicate that OSPatch_3106991 resolves Microsoft KB3106991, Microsoft KB3081320, Microsoft KB2979597, and Microsoft KB3144114. Upon review of the Patch Log, the first 3 are listed, but Microsoft KB3144114 is not included. -
Cause
In some cases, the Patch Log will fail to record this line, in other cases, all 4 Microsoft KBs will be present. As long as the SQL version is correct, then the changes have been applied successfully. -
Resolution
To verify that the Microsoft SQL Server version has been updated successfully:
- Login to the /admin interface with a Sys Admin user.- Go to the Logs menu and select Database Log.
- Search for the following line listed in the log (date and time will vary)
""6/1/2018 2:51:29 PM","Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP3-OD) (KB3144114) - 10.50.6542.0 (X64) Feb 22 2016 18:07:23 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)"
If the version matches, then the appliances has been updated successfully. If the version does not match, re-apply OSPatch_3106991.
