After changing the hostname of the system the host.keytab values and the computer object still have the previous name. -
Cause
Changing the hostname of the systems does not change the host.keytab or computer object. -
Resolution
After changing the host name on a system unjoining and joining the system will create a new computer object in AD and and a new host.keytab on the system that will have the new name. This will also create the computer object with the correct name and values
If you are using dnsupdate you can run then run the following to update the record in DNS with the correct hostname.
# /opt/quest/sbin/dnsupdate <ipaddress>
