Connections between hosts/relays and Syslog-ng Store Box (SSB) are refused by the SSB.
All destinations cannot be identical and must have at least one differentiating entry of either the IP Address/DNS name, Port, or Protocol due to the persist files being created by the SSB not being able to contain identical information.
Examples of correct configurations can be found below:
Destinations can contain matching IP Address/DNS names and matching Ports, as long as the the Protocol is different.
Destinations can contain matching Ports and Protocols, as long as the IP Address/DNS name is different.
Identical destinations can be used if differentiating DNS names are used for the sources even if the IP Address resolved per the DNS entry are matching. Examples of correct configurations using this method can be found below:
exampleserver1.domain = 192.168.1.105
exampleserver2.domain = 192.168.1.105
Both Destination 1 and Destination 2 are technically identical but because the DNS names are different the persist file sees this as an applicable difference and allows the dual connection without refusing the connection.
