The following are suggested steps for migrating and may not include all customizations. Support does not aid with migrations and/or upgrades, for support with migrating/upgrading please consult with Professional Services (PSO) who can be engaged through an Account Representative.
1.) Copy the internal contents of the syslog-ng.conf, and any additional configurations should any be defined, and paste them into the syslog-ng.conf on the Linux machine. Most of the settings come from this config file.
2.) The version of the config will need to be changed to 7.0 from 6.0 otherwise an error will occur when starting the service. Simply replace the 6 with a 7 in the syslog-ng.conf file.
3.) Any windows file/directory paths will have to be adjusted to Linux-compliant paths.
4.) Any issues with the syslog-ng.conf should be caught with the syntax checker command which can be run using the following command on Linux:
/opt/syslog-ng/sbin/syslog-ng -svf /opt/syslog-ng/etc/syslog-ng.conf
