Configuration of a Policy server in Management Console for Unix fails when using Privilege Manager for Sudo 6.1 -
Description
When using the 'Join or Configure > Configure Policy Server' option in Management console for Unix with a non-root user it will fail if you have Privilege Manager for Sudo version 6.1 installed.
The error message starts with:Configuring QPM Server on hostname (Failed): could not insert: [com.quest.bullseye.common.model.posix.PmPolicyGroup]; -
Cause
Product Defect 804593
Incorrect permissions set on the pmsrvinfo binary file on the Policy server. -
Resolution
STATUS:
Waiting for a fix in a future release of Privilege Manager for Sudo and Privilege Manager for Unix.
WORKAROUND:
Correct the permissions on the pmsrvinfo binary file before running the configuration steps in Management Console for Unix.
The following command can be used on the policy server:
# chmod 4755 /opt/quest/sbin/qpm4u_610_0/pmsrvinfo
Alternatively add the non-root user to the local pmpolicy group on the policy server. -
